چکیده
Abstract The conversion of transverse mode-locked (TML) laser beams from a Hermite-Gaussian (HG) to Laguerre-Gaussian (LG) mode set using cylindrical lens converter was demonstrated experimentally. By changing the spatial symmetry new spatio-temporal dynamics for TML lasers were enabled. In particular, fast linear motion an oscillating spot, generated by based on HG modes, translated into circular beam LG modes. successfully different average orders. Apart ellipticity about $$6\%$$ 6 % , converted profiles remained over propagation near- far-field. remaining seemed be introduced astigmatism incident beam, which could compensated before conversion. Due their radial and high scanning speed modes are well suited precision applications like STED or Minflux microscopy.

Mode-locked fiber laser gyroscope.
We propose and demonstrate a novel fiber-optic gyroscope in the form of a mode-locked laser consisting of a laser cavity formed by a planar mirror at one end, a gain medium, and a Sagnac interferometer at the other end. The Sagnac interferometer serves as a reflector as well as a rotation-sensing element. The output of the gyroscope is a series of short optical pulses. The separation of two set...
متن کاملGraphene mode-locked ultrafast laser.
Graphene is at the center of a significant research effort. Near-ballistic transport at room temperature and high mobility make it a potential material for nanoelectronics. Its electronic and mechanical properties are also ideal for micro- and nanomechanical systems, thin-film transistors, and transparent and conductive composites and electrodes. Here we exploit the optoelectronic properties of...

متن کامل1.21 W passively mode-locked Tm:LuAG laser.
A watt-level output passively mode-locked Tm:LuAG bulk laser with an InGaAs semiconductor saturable absorber mirror (SESAM) is demonstrated for the first time. A maximum average output power of 1.21 W at 2022.9 nm has been achieved with a pulse duration of 38 ps and a repetition rate of 129.2 MHz. The results indicate the potential of Tm:LuAG crystals as candidate for realizing high power ultra...

We experimentally demonstrated femtosecond operation in a diode-pumped Yb:Y(3)Ga(5)O(12) laser for the first time, to the best of our knowledge. By using Gires-Tournois interferometer mirrors for dispersion compensation and a semiconductor saturable absorber mirror for passive mode locking, pulses with a duration as short as 245 fs at the central wavelength of 1045 nm have been produced at a re...
